EbooksWelcome to ebooks at the Mountain View Elementary library. Please click on http://wbb01834.follettshelf.com
to access the user interface. The students will have individual logins with which they will be able to check out books, bookmark pages and take notes. Students can access the website from home or anywhere with Internet access. You can also find a direct link to the website on the right. News about PlayawaysAlthough the regular checkout for books is over a 2 week period, we will be limiting Playaways to just one week. There is a huge demand for them and we would like all of those who are interested to have an opportunity this year. They are a fabulous tool to use if you want to challenge yourself to a higher reading level or if you just love having books read to you.
In the interests of keeping germs from spreading, the library will be checking out Playaways without headphones. The students have been asked to either use headphones from home or purchase a pair for $1.00 from the library. Lexile Information Lexile numbers are a rating system for books. They give a person insight into a reading level. Please note that books that have longer stentences and more complex words have higher lexile numbers. But please also know that the lexile measure in no way measures the content or quality of a book. The Lexile is certainly a tool to help in choosing a book, but please also remember that content of the material matters, as does maturity of the student.
Please check out the sites listed by our Reading Specialist (go to Departments and then Reading from the main page). Discussion Topics Library Calendar
